    ALL ABOARD ! --------------------------------------- Looking west from atop the Roseville Tunnel Atop the west portal of the tunnel, looking towards Johnson Park --------------------------------------- The remainder of the photos are all at railbed level, at the east portal of the tunnel Looking east from just a ways past the east portal --------------------------------------- Note the trail/access road on the right, which today is used to bring construction vehicles to the top of the west portal. Back in the early 1900s during tunnel construction, a double track once existed here and was presumably used to move blasted rock to higher terrain for removal from the area Directly below is a photo from the early 1900s during tunnel construction of nearly the exact same view as I shot above.  It's really neat to be able to compare the views --------------------------------------- A drainage ditch has now been dug Giant banana peels plastered on the inner walls of the tunnel 😛 I rea

The first picture is looking west from atop the west portal of Roseville Tunnel --------------------------------------- The next picture is looking east from atop the Roseville Cut, before it was realized that a tunnel would be required due to the soft rock that was encountered --------------------------------------- The next (2) pictures are looking east from atop the east portal of the Roseville Tunnel --------------------------------------- The next (2) pictures are looking down at the east portal of the Roseville Tunnel. Lackawanna Cut-Off Rehabilitation (Andover/Roseville Tunnel areas) - February 8, 2024

    ALL ABOARD ! Not much progress on the line itself or at the future site of the Andover Station.  The work seems to be focused on the Tunnel during the winter months and thus the need for large tarps placed at both east and west portals to keep the workers nice and comfy inside, or as comfy as one can be in an old railroad tunnel. --------------------------------------- The first (5) pictures are looking west towards Andover from atop the Hill Cut --------------------------------------- The next (6) pictures are looking east towards Roseville Tunnel  from atop the Hill Cut --------------------------------------- The next (4) pictures are looking down at the west portal of Roseville Tunnel from the Johnson Park side of Colby Cut --------------------------------------- The next (2) pictures are looking west towards Andover from atop the west portal of Roseville Tunnel --------------------------------------- The next picture is looking east from the east portal of Roseville Tunnel ----
